Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is one of the fastest and most conservative ways to brighten up your smile. There are no painful needles or tooth grinding required in teeth whitening procedures. It can be used as a single procedure or in combination with other treatment to achieve the most desirable aesthetic outcome.

In general, there are two treatment options. If you want to get the result fast, you can opt for the in-clinic procedure. However, if you wish to have more control and see how your teeth transform gradually, you can opt for our professionally prescribed and supervised “Home Whitening” system.

While safe, some individuals do experience some degree of transient tooth sensitivity; this can however be managed by your dentist.

Teeth whitening can be fun and easy to use. Before you get started, a thorough consultation with our dental team is essential to find out about your exact condition before an appropriate treatment plan can be recommended to you that best suits your needs and expectations.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Does Teeth Whitening Work?

Teeth whitening works when the active ingredients in the whitening gel penetrate into the outer and inner layer of teeth to break down discoloured molecules in your teeth. Once these stains and discolourations are removed, you will have a whiter and brighter smile!

Why Do Teeth Discolour?

The outermost layer is enamel, while the layer inner to that is dentine. Enamel is generally thin and translucent while the dentine makes up the bulk of the tooth and appears to be darker in colour. Enamel can be discoloured as we age and also from other sources like coffee, tea, smoking tobacco. Frequent consumption of acidic foods and beverages will also cause our enamel to wear down faster over time which would allow more of the darker coloured dentine to show through.

How Long Will The Teeth Whitening Results Last?

The results after teeth whitening are very stable, giving you a bright smile long after your treatment is over. However, factors such as frequent consumption of coffee, tea and smoking tobacco can affect the length of the whitening results. Touch-up treatments can be done easily to help you get back that beautiful and bright smile!
